Community Kids comprises two classes for English language speaking students at our school, these being; Transition-Year 2 and Years 3-6. Students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and the Community Kids classes are a welcoming base. Our smaller class sizes allow for individualised attention and a commitment to personalised learning for each student so that they achieve optimal academic, social and emotional outcomes.

Our teaching teams provide an engaging and rich curriculum that covers English, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, Religion, Health and Physical Education and the Arts through integrated learning experiences.

The academic program for Transition-Year 2 delivers the InitiaLit Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening program for English literacy instruction. The Years 3-6 class builds on the foundation that this program offers through learnt skills and begins to focus on fluency and comprehension with a greater emphasis on application.

There is also an opportunity for upper primary students to be involved in School of the Air where students take responsibility for their learning independently via an online class.

Community Kids classes provides a unique educational experience for students to immerse themselves into the culture and events of the local community through the learning of the Murrinhpatha language, dance and art while learning about the Aboriginal land they are living on.
