Inclusion Support is a hub located in the middle of the school. Our aim is to support students with disabilities and students with additional learning and support needs.
Some of the things we do to support students are:
- give extra support for students with their learning
- support students' wellbeing
- support students if they need a break from class
- be there if students need someone to talk to
- students can have a shower or sleep if needed
- make referrals to outside agencies.
Inclusion Support is also used by the Wadeye Health Clinic, Childrens doctor, Hearing mob, Hearing Australia, Deadly Vision, the Dental team, Community Allied Health team and NDIS providers. We work closely with these outside agencies to make sure we can support the students at a community level.
In Inclusion support we have a little clinic. Our school nurses support students first aid needs and work with the Wadeye health clinic to help children that have medical needs.
Some things the school nurses do to help:
- basic First Aid
- health education
- hygiene supports in class
- dental program
- medication administration
- support student wellbeing.
School counselling staff are also members of the Inclusion support team.
The school counsellors/social workers can:
- support students who are worrying about school, friends, getting in trouble or feeling down
- support student learning and behaviour
- liaise with other agencies regarding student wellbeing.
