The Trade Training Centre is a setting where students develop skills in measuring, cutting, assembling and finishing using: wood, metal, other materials, engineering processes including welding, and mechanics. It is also where computers are used to develop drawings to program CNC machines such as 3D printers and a CNC plasma cutter.
The aim is to empower students to be community members that are more self-sufficient in areas that are needed within the community, and as such programs will be tailored to ultimately meet community needs.
There are also options for students to explore business and enterprise opportunities.
Formal training is offered to allow all students to get qualifications for future employment or self-employment.
The Trade Training Centre partners with the Thamarrurr Development Corporation, and other community stakeholders, to facilitate training for adults as the need arises.
